Barcelona turned down two offers from Bayern Munich for Ronald Araujo in the January transfer window.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Bayern Munich initially offered €70 million plus €20 million in variables for Araujo. Despite increasing their bid to €80 million plus an additional €10 million, they were met with rejection on both occasions.

Manager Thomas Tuchel even attempted to persuade Araujo to join Bayern, but his efforts proved futile.

Araujo has expressed his desire to remain at Barcelona this season, and the club is reportedly in talks to extend his contract, which currently expires in 2026. Discussions with the player's representatives have already taken place, with further meetings scheduled to finalize the defender's extension.

Although Araujo's €1 billion buyout clause provides significant protection, Barcelona's financial challenges may prompt clubs to revisit their interest in the summer transfer window.

It remains uncertain if Bayern will revive their pursuit of Araujo in the upcoming transfer window, as they first need to appoint a successor to Tuchel, who has confirmed his departure at the end of the season
