 As the 2023/24 season's inaugural international break approaches, Barcelona is bracing for a flurry of its players to embark on representing their respective countries next month.

Raphinha, the winger, initially seemed to be among those staying back at the club during the international hiatus, as he was not initially selected for the Brazil squad under new manager Fernando Diniz.

However, an unfortunate injury sustained by Real Madrid's winger Vinicius Jr, sidelining him for approximately six weeks, has altered the course of events. This setback has created an opening for Raphinha, as he has now received a call-up to the Brazil squad.

The 26-year-old, who has recently been the subject of transfer speculations linking him to Chelsea, has now earned a spot in the Selecao lineup. The Brazilian national team is slated to face Bolivia and Peru in the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

The Brazil Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed Raphinha's inclusion in an official statement: "Real Madrid striker Vinicius Jr has been omitted from the senior Brazil squad. The national team's doctor, Dr. Rodrigo Lasmar, liaised with Real Madrid's medical department, who provided a test report. In place of Vinicius Jr, coach Fernando Diniz has summoned FC Barcelona striker Raphinha."
