Laporta today confirms this thing.

 

Barcelona went hard and fast in the summer transfer window, but failed to sign the player in all positions that needed coverage.

 For example, deals for Hector Bellerin and Marcos Alonso were only completed on the delivery date.

Unfortunately it looks like the Catalans won't be able to go as hard as they would like in January due to La Liga's FFP rules. 

President Joan Laporta confirmed this in an interview with EFE. If the rumors are true, Barcelona had quite a few players on their radar for the winter. 

If Barcelona fail to sign the player in January, their attention will be on renewing a few key players. 

Alejandro Balde impressed both fans and coaches alike with his season.

Alonso's renewal is also largely on the table, much to the surprise of Camp Nou loyalists.
