Lautaro Martinez was vigorously connected with a transition to Barcelona all through the 2019/20 season.
The Argentine had looked like he was on out of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza to leave Inter to move to the Camp Nou, and he, when all is said and done, has conceded that the move was near occurring.
"I was truly near Barcelona," Lautaro disclosed to ESPN Argentina. "I had examined with Lionel Messi, yet they had monetary issues and I chose to remain.
The proposed move to Barcelona wasn't the first occasion when that he verged on showing up on Spanish shores, with Real Madrid having shown an interest in him while he was playing or Racing.
"[Santiago] Solari was at Real Madrid Castilla and he came searching for me," Lautaro added. "I didn't want to go that distant. They offered me an agreement, however I didn't feel prepared."
The forward has since been delegated Serie A hero with Inter, as Antonio Conte's side ousted Juventus.
"I've longed for this since I was a youngster," Lautaro said. "I think I was more right than wrong to remain, on the grounds that I've won a title.
"I've longed for having a family and winning titles, and now I have that."
