Ronald Koeman didn't try to hide his displeasure in the aftermath of Barcelona's 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid

Los Blancos were the better side in the principal half, scoring through Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos, before the Blaugrana energized after the break.

The match finished with Koeman and his Barcelona players fighting at ref Jesus Gil Manzano for choices made in the subsequent half, remembering a test for Martin Braithwaite from Ferland Mendy that the guests were sure was a punishment.

"In case you're a Barcelona fan, you're raging and despondent on account of the refereeing choices," Koeman told the media.

"Previously, I simply need to say that we didn't play well in the principal half, neither protectively nor disagreeably. We improved in the subsequent half.

"All I ask is that the officials get things right.

"[Mendy's test on Braithwaite] was a punishment and I think the four minutes of stoppage time [is not enough], when the ref halted the game for a few minutes in light of his shoulder [equipment]...

"The punishment is clear. Presently we need to acknowledge it and shut up."

The mentor, at that point, was inquired as to whether the arbitrator affected the result of the game.

"If not, it's 2-2," Koeman said.

"I don't have the foggiest idea why there's VAR in Spain. Everybody has seen the episode [involving Mendy and Braithwaite].

"As far as I might be concerned, it's a reasonable punishment. Everybody has seen it.

"I don't comprehend that a linesman who is 10 meters away [can't see it].

"From the manner in which Martin goes down, it must be a foul.

"Possibly the ref didn't see it, yet we have VAR for circumstances like this.

"It's ideal to quit talking.

"The group had a decent mindset. We merit right choices in minutes like that punishment.

"I'm by all account not the only one who is [angry]. The players are additionally irritated with the authorities' choice on the punishment.

"There are different players who have spent numerous years at Barcelona and I couldn't say whether they feel it's something that is happened more than once."
