What’s next for Pablo Torre future?

Pablo Torre's future will be one of the question marks facing FC Barcelona as they prepare for a new squad restructuring.

The young midfielder spent one season on loan at Girona, where he managed just over 800 minutes.

Torre was not as successful as fellow Barcelona loanee Eric Garcia. That's why he will return to the Stadio Montjuic in the summer, but his future is even more uncertain than Garcia's.

The Barcelona side was willing to use Torre as a back-up player in the signing of top midfielder Mikel Merino. But other solutions are possible.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Pablo Torre himself is not sure about his future in Barcelona. He is currently considering two options: to stay at Barcelona or to continue in Girona. Torre would not easily fall behind Ilkay Gündogan, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri or even Marc Casado in the pecking order.

Needless to say, Barcelona are expected to sign a new defensive midfielder this summer, with Joshua Kimmich remaining the top target.

Against this backdrop, Pablo Torre does not exclude the possibility of a long-term stay in Girona. Despite his limited playing time under Michel, his importance in the team gradually grew as the season progressed.

As of now, there has been no communication between the Catalan club regarding an extension of the loan, but it will be interesting to see how things develop in the coming weeks.

However, staying at Barça may not be the wisest solution given that Barça already have a strong midfield.
