Barcelona manager has his eye on Liverpool and Newcastle United stars, Hansi Flick pleased

With the upcoming summer transfer window approaching, Barcelona sporting director Deco is busy identifying key targets to strengthen the squad under new manager Hansi Flick.

With midfield and attack emerging as Barcelona's two biggest problem areas, it is no secret that the club is particularly looking to strengthen in these two departments.

With speculation linking Barcelona with transfers of La Liga stars Mikel Merino and Nico Williams, Deco appears to have his sights set on the Premier League.

According to SPORT, Bruno Guimaraes and Luis Diaz have emerged as Deco's top priorities for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has been Deco's choice for the central midfield position.

The player is eager for a new challenge and would like to move to Catalonia. Flick himself is also involved in the project, having recognised Guimarães's talent in the midfield, but the German has had his eye on Bundesliga talent Angelo Stiller for some time.

In the left wing position, both Deco and Flick have their eye on Colombian winger Luis Diaz.

With a perfect combination of speed, dribbling ability and goal threat, Diaz's skills fit perfectly with what Barcelona are currently looking for.

His experience in a high-intensity team like Liverpool is another factor that makes him a strong candidate, as he would fit smoothly into Flick's high-octane system.

Deco has his sights firmly set on South American duo Guimarães and Luis Diaz, but Barcelona are of course ready to explore many options.

For example, Nico Williams could replace Luis Diaz in the left wing position and the club has also been rumoured to be interested in a move for Douglas Luis.

However, if Barcelona's finances go well this summer, they could bet everything this summer on a "sports bomb" like Guimarães or Diaz.
